This is my near complete Gintama collection.
Personally, I'd call it a complete collection since all characters are there and then some.
In general, my policy in collecting figures are by series. I mean I tend to collect all figures from a series.
Generally, I tend to dislike collecting just female figures. I am not saying I dislike girls, but I favor a healthy ratio between males & females when figures are displayed.
Of course, I have to like a series to begin with.

They are displayed in a display unit. Gintama figures have taken the entire unit.

I am really sad that Megahouse did not produce Tae and Shinpachi. While I understand that both of them have fairly low popularity, they are crucial to the series.
On a positive side, Banpresto has Shinpachi at least.

I also wanted Sadaharu but there is no figure for him. However, there is Sadaharu piggy bank which is almost like a figure, so I grabbed it. There are also Sadaharu pillows & cushions but they are way too big.
So, I settled on that Sadaharu piggy bank model.
I'd like to mention that the Souko figure has her skirt cast off. She's ... pretty sexy.

And I have a habit of placing Sougo behind Hijikata. He's ready to strike him down.
And that Gintoki sweet tooth is my favorite version of Gintoki. It's by Banpresto and is 1/7 scale (loosely speaking). Thus, it fits well compared to other Banpresto's Gintama figures.

And finally I have Banpresto Gintama figures on bottom along with Gintama voice thingies.
At first, I began with Banpresto Gintama figures because I felt Megahouse versions were too expensive.
Mind you that I was just getting into figure collecting at that time and had no idea of how expensive figures could get.
I was happy with Banpresto figures until I managed to grab Megahouse Gintoki off Ebay for mere 25 bucks brand new. When I got him, opened the box, and inspected the figure, I realized the quality gap was huge.
And so began my journey of collecting Megahouse Gintama figures.
It'd take too long to individually list prices I paid for each figures, so I will make it short.
The most expensive Megahouse Gintama figure was Kamui & Souko both at 150USD.
The most inexpensive Megahouse Gintama figure was Gintoki at 25USD.
Everything else falls inbetween.
It took around 2 and half years to collect all of these by the way.

My apologies. I read "merch" as "mecha" for some odd reasons.
My figure photographs take long terms planning for each of them because I need to collect specific props for each scene. You can actually keep track of my plans and what I plan to do at my blog, figurine.club/b...
Mecha? Uhh my post didn't say anything about mecha?
I also wish there were Tae and Shinpachi scale figures! It is surprising since Shinpachi is part of the main trio. (I also someday hope for Tama and Sacchan scales)
I still need to get Kamui ver.2 ITEM #359297 before my collection is complete ;-; and if they bring out any more figures of Sougo or Kamui I'm screwed XD
Despite MegaHouse's quality sometimes being iffy I think the Gintama figures are really nice. Sougo ITEM #189855 and Souko ITEM #359296 are my favourites <3 (and you're right with Souko being sexy, she's so beautiful)
I tend to collect just one figure per character but Gintama, especially Gintoki, has been an exception.
I really wish or hope that Tae and Shinpachi will become available in 1/8 scale.
Tama in 1/8 scale would also be ... tearfully great as well.
I liked collecting Gintama figures because there is a healthy ratio of males to females.
Just curious though, you say near complete, but I thought Gintama had a lot of merch to it? Do you skip out a lot of the trading figures and other misc stuff, or do you plan to add those to your collection as well? I could be wrong though, and be seeing almost everything and not realize it.
Nope, there is no mecha in the series.

I've already too much figure of him (Ok it's impossible to have too much figure XD) but I'd like to get it too !
Do you know which entry on the site it is ?
