Haruto Souma was a survivor of the ritual that released the Demons into his world on the day of a solar eclipse. Some time after, he is presented with the WizarDriver so that he may fight the demons as a Kamen Rider. Kamen Rider Wizard's mission is to give hope and save people from despair.
Haruto hides his true self under a lighter, easily-amused persona. His favorite food is donuts.

Kamen Rider Wizard's forms are referred to as Styles.
- Wizard's base red/ruby form which uses fire spells and attacks. Accessed through the Flame Ring.
- Wizard's blue/sapphire form which uses water spells and attacks. Accessed through the Water Ring.
- Wizard's green/emerald form which uses wind spells and attacks. Accessed through the Hurricane Ring.
- Wizard's yellow/topaz form which uses earth spells and attacks. Accessed through the Land Ring.
