I can't take any picture right now, sorry, but no, the base is clear plastic and is rectangular.

She doesn't seem to be able to stand on a flat surface by herself and is held in place by a translucent piece of plastic around her ankle and a magnet in the middle of the base. I wish the base was optional as it's 20cm (7.9 inches) long.
I really like it nonetheless !
