About this picture

Just for my personal documentation purposes! I finally added LED strips to my Billy bookcases after putting it off for so long, and I’ve acquired and sold off manga and figures in the meantime to keep more in line with my current interests.

mania11 months ago#115443249super cool display. the led strips really (quite literally actually) brighten up your setup.
Just curious, the section of door on your billys in the lower middle (directly below your pokemon/persona scales), aka the only section that isn't glass/see-through, do you actually display anything there? Or is the inside just completely empty?

Thanks! The non-see-through section I just treat as storage, so it has boxes and tools and stuff inside. It’s not empty but also not for display haha!

mysticalflyte11 months ago#115399192Thank you! Sure thing, here’s the link to the strips I used: a.co/d/dk8mMXQ
I bought 3 of these plus an extension cord that is placed on the top of the middle shelf (blocked by the boxes), and each comes with two 16.4ft strips. The wires start at the top, and each door is routed with one of the 16.4ft strips.
Here’s a set of images I had referenced from a Reddit post to give myself a better idea of how to pull it off that may be useful: imgur.io/a/kJce...
Hope that helps! ^^

Thank you for the info and the quick reply! Really appreciate that and its always nice to get some advise from others who have done it before =)

Once again, love the overall look of the room and great setup with the bookshelf displays. Hope mine turn out at least kind of like this! =P Thanks for sharing it with the community!

Z0mbi3Jayk3r11 months ago#115409931Awesome setup! Might get some inspiration out of it. :) Did you have to mount your bookcases to the wall or are the doors not that heavy?
And general question to everyone: Has anyone ever had any trouble with the width of billy book cases (especially with doors in front) or do most of the figures fit in there? E.g. ITEM #464669

Thank you! I have them mounted on the wall since personally I find that to be more secure, and the doors aren’t extremely heavy but not necessarily light either since they’re mostly made of glass.
I don’t have the figure you linked so I don’t really know the size you’re asking about, but if it helps, the width of the Billy is 28cm/11in. It should be able to fit anything within that size and have doors closed on it! ^^

Thank you so much!! Really feel like my hard work has paid off :’)Ertai11 months ago#115399687I love everything about this, so good! I hadn't even considered using doors on my Billy cases to present items on the top shelf. You just gave me some inspiration as well so thanks for that!
Nice! I’m so happy sharing my setup has given some ideas to other collectors such as yourself!

Kylskada11 months ago#115399519Who are the characters on that canvas? if you don't mind me asking, they look so familiar.
I’m not sure which canvas you’re talking about, but I’ll tell you for both! The one directly above the corner table next to the Billy’s is Marianne von Edmund from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The canvas above the Milsbo is young Rei Kiriyama and Hinata Kawamoto from March Comes in Like a Lion. Both are my fanart, drawn because I love both the game and that anime series very much!
Reiny0311 months ago#115399537was it only me who wonder where did the extra top layer of the billy book shelves came from hehe
Those are Billy height extension units from IKEA! www.ikea.com/us...

Ahh thank you so much for checking out my other photos and for your kind words! So flattered that you think my space is inspirational ;v; Rooting for you to make a space like this or even better someday!
